ANLCA Board of Trustees Mourns Passing of Mrs. Helen Asu Beks

The Board of Trustees of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mrs. Helen Asu Beks, wife of veteran maritime journalist and industry statesman, Chief Asu Beks.

In an official condolence message signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha, the Board described Mrs. Beks’ passing on Thursday, November 13, 2025, as a painful loss not only to her family but to the entire maritime community. Chief Beks, a respected figure in the sector for decades, was praised for his longstanding contributions to industry development, integrity, and professionalism.

According to the statement, the death of a spouse “one’s closest companion and source of strength” is a grief that words can hardly capture. The Board noted that Mrs. Beks lived a life defined by grace, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family, adding that her legacy would continue through the children she nurtured and the support she provided to her husband’s work.

The ANLCA Board encouraged Chief Beks and his family to find solace in faith, affirming that “God remains close to the brokenhearted.” It prayed for divine strength for the bereaved family and for the peaceful repose of Mrs. Beks’ soul.

Reaffirming its solidarity, the Board assured Chief Beks of its moral and emotional support during this difficult period.
