Dantshoho Meets Union Leaders, Pledges Capacity Development for Improved Productivity

The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, has reaffirmed his commitment to staff development aimed at boosting productivity and revenue generation.
Dr. Dantsoho gave this assurance Friday when he received leaders of the Senior Staff Association of Government Owned Companies (SSASCGOC) and the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, (MWUN), led by the President General, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju.
The NPA helmsman according to a statement by Mrs. Ballah Sarah, expressed appreciation for the visit, and emphasized the need to position the Authority to perform its role in trade facilitation efficiently, noting that with the right communication and dialogue, “we will get there soon”.
He assured theunion leaders of his determination to further strengthen the organisational culture of the NPA for the good of all, even as he called for continued collaboration and harmony from the two house unions.
Responding, MWUN President General, Comrade Adeyanju congratulated Dr. Dantsoho on his appointment and urged him to look into the issues of staff welfare and remuneration.
This is even as he expressed confidence in the abilities of Dr. Dantsoho to bring about the desired improvements in the authority and the maritime sector. Earlier, President of SSASCGOC, Comrade Akinola Bodunde also pledged to support management to achieve the growth of the industry as well as improved welfare of the workforce.
Also speaking, MWUN, NPA Branch President, Comrade Ifeanyi Mazeli, xpressed the union’s commitment towards promoting dialogue and enhancing overall growth within the maritime sector.
The meeting had in attendance the Executive Director Finance and Administration Mrs Vivian Richard-Edet, Executive Director Marine and Operations, Engr. Olalekan Badmus and other management staff of the NPA.
