ANLCA Felicitates Customs Boss, Adeniyi at 60
The Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has extended warm felicitations to the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Dr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, on the occasion of his 60th birthday today, January 19, 2026.
In a statement signed by its National President, Mr. Emenike Kingsley Nwokeoji, the Association described Dr. Adeniyi as a reform-driven leader whose tenure has repositioned the Service for greater efficiency, transparency, and global recognition.
The statement added that since assuming office in June 2023 until being confirmed in October of the same year, Dr. Adeniyi has overseen significant milestones in customs administration. Under his watch, the Service recorded a 74 percent increase in revenue collection, earning commendation from the World Customs Organisation (WCO).

His leadership has also advanced digital transformation initiatives, streamlined clearance processes, and strengthened anti-smuggling operations.
ANLCA noted that Dr. Adeniyi has prioritized capacity building for officers, aligning the Service with international best practices, while also fostering stronger collaboration with stakeholders in the trading community. These reforms, the Association said, have enhanced Nigeria’s competitiveness in global commerce and boosted confidence in the Customs Service.
“On behalf of the Executive and leadership of ANLCA, we celebrate Dr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi at 60. His visionary leadership and commitment to institutional reforms have left indelible marks on the Nigeria Customs Service and the nation’s economy,” Nwokeoji said.
He prayed for continued wisdom, strength, and success for the Comptroller-General as he continues to steer the Service towards greater heights.
