Customs FOU Zone B Controller, Sule, Tours Sokoko, Kebbi States

In a bid to deepen collaboration and enhance operational efficiency, Comptroller Aminu Sule of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone B, Kaduna, embarked on a strategic working tour of Sokoto and Kebbi States, aligning with the Comptroller General of Customs,  Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR’s vision of consolidation, innovation, and partnership-driven service.

Comptroller Sule’s visit to the Kebbi Area Command was marked by a warm reception from Area Controller Ibrahim Mahmoud Matawalle and a series of high-level engagements. The highlight was his courtesy visits to two revered traditional rulers, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Gwandu, Major General Muhammad Iliyasu Bashar (Rtd), CFR, mni, and His Royal Highness, the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera, CON.

Both Emirs lauded the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for its pivotal role in safeguarding the national economy and facilitating trade. They pledged unwavering support in sensitizing their communities against smuggling and economic sabotage, emphasizing the importance of strong alliances with Customs for regional development.

According to a release by the Unit Public Relations officer, Chief superintendent of Customs, Saidu Nuruddeen , Comptroller Sule expressed heartfelt appreciation for the hospitality and support.

“I am deeply touched by the kindness, respect, and cooperation shown by our traditional rulers and host communities. Their partnership strengthens our resolve to work together for national progress and regional development.”

He also held stakeholder meetings with Customs personnel, business leaders, and community representatives to strategize on revenue optimization, inter-agency collaboration, and trade facilitation.

In Sokoto, Comptroller Sule was welcomed by Comptroller Aliyu Isa Ndayako. Their discussions focused on enhancing operational synergy, intelligence sharing, and enforcement capabilities. Sule emphasized that unified efforts across Customs formations are essential to achieving the CGC’s reform agenda and curbing economic infractions.

The tour underscored the importance of institutional and community partnerships in achieving Customs’ mandate. Comptroller Sule reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, professionalism, and collaborative enforcement, describing traditional institutions as “partners in progress.”

The strategic engagements across Sokoto and Kebbi States reflect FOU Zone B’s dedication to building trust, improving service delivery, and fostering national development through inclusive and responsive Customs operations.
