The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria ( MWUN ) has sent a ‘thank you’ message to the leadership and management of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), for the donation of two utility vehicles to the union to support its logistics movement.
MWUN President General, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju said the gesture underscores the visionary leadership of the Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Bashir Jamoh OFR, noting that the gesture will not only improve the Agency’s and the union’s relationship but will also enhance industrial growth and harmony.
A press statement released by the PG’s Office reads: “The Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria ( MWUN ) under the leadership of Comrade (Prince) Adewale Adeyanju has appreciated the Director – General of NIMASA, Dr. Bashir Jamo OFR, for the two utility vehicles donated to the union; one Toyota Hiace 18 seater bus and Toyota Hilux.
“This noble gesture by NIMASA under the visionary leadership of Dr. Jamo will not only strengthen the Agency’s and the union’s relationship but will further promote industrial growth, harmony, and development in the sector. Indeed, Dr. Jamo has pragmatically extended the Agency’s outreach on social corporate responsibility (CSR) to the union.
“It’s of note that this very rare giant stride taken by NIMASA has demonstrated fully its act of responsiveness and commitment towards giving out corporate social responsibility to stakeholders in the maritime sector. This gesture has invariably put Dr. Jamo’s NIMASA in the front burner of the union’s leadership heart and to the delight of the generality of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria.”
Comrade Adeyanju, his management team and the entire union note that government, whether outgoing or incoming can be sure of achieving more with appointees like Jamoh who is not only an industry technocrat but one that is committed to growing the nation’s maritime economy and supporting the government to deliver on critical blueprints and national agenda.
The union expressed the hope that when people like Jamoh serves out their statutory two terms in office, economic growth and industry stability is assured.
“The Union will continue to positively partner NIMASA in the sector believing same that this gesture will enhance the operational network of the union and its members at all times.
“However, while the union is fervently praying that the Almighty God keeps the NIMASA helmsman in good health and longevity, may his dynamic qualities of leadership see him through all the tenures of his office.
“On this note, we say a Big Thank You to Dr. Jamoh.”
