BY KESIENNA SHPEHERDS
The Society for Emergency Research and Community Development (SEREC) has extended warm congratulations to Prince Olayiwola Shittu following his appointment as an International Peace Advocate by the Positive Livelihood Award Centre (UN-POLAC).
This prestigious honour recognizes Prince Shittu’s longstanding dedication to peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and leadership within Nigeria’s maritime industry, particularly in the freight forwarding sub-sector. Over the years, he has championed unity, professionalism, and constructive engagement among industry practitioners—values that have strengthened confidence and stability across the sector.
Fwdr Eugene Nweke, Head of Research at SEREC, described the appointment as both a personal achievement and a collective milestone for the freight forwarding community. “It reinforces the critical role of visionary leadership in advancing harmony, institutional growth, and sustainable development,” he noted.
Prince Shittu’s new global assignment is expected to further elevate standards of peace advocacy and industry cohesion, both nationally and internationally. SEREC expressed confidence that his contributions will continue to inspire progress and foster greater collaboration across borders.
