Omale Tours llela Border To Assess Closure Compliance

To keep a close-tab on the closure of all land borders with Niger Republic by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Sokoto/Zamfara Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Musa Omale has embarked on a one day working tour of the llela border.

On arrival at the llela border Omale charge officers and men of the command not to lower their guard and to ensure 24/7 vigilance to ensure nothing goes in or comes out of the country.
It will be recalled that the Federal Government on 30th July 2023 the directed the closure of all border stations with the neigbhoyring francophone country following the disruption of its democratic  dispensation by the incumbent
military junta.
Since the closure, the command has continued to leverage on intelligence leading to the sucessful recording of a number of interceptions.
While addressing  officers and stakeholders including sister agencies personnel, the Sokoto/Zamfara Customs boss said, “I am impressed with the additional layers of enforcement put in place. I also want to thank other sister security agencies for their cooperation towards enforcing the compliance, l implore all to keep the tempo.
“Let me also extend my appreciation to the stakeholders (importers, exporters and agents) and the llela community for your patience and adherence to the border closure.
“I implore you to exercise more patience as we hope for a quick amicable resolution of the crisis.”
