The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Ogun 11 Command has announced the collection of generated the sum of Fifteen billion, one hundred and ninety-one million, two hundred and twenty-seven thousand, five hundred and three Naira, eighty-two kobo 15,191,227,503.82 generated the sum of Fifteen billion, one hundred and ninety-one million, two hundred and twenty-seven thousand, five hundred and three Naira, eighty-two kobo 15,191,227,503.82 in revenue receipt.

According to the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Bisi Alade, the figure generated first quarter of this year represents 40percent rise in its revenue performance over and above the figure for the corresponding period of 2024.

A statement by the Command Public Relations Officer, DSC D Adamu, , the Command also discovered another unauthorized factory that was operating illegally, which was subsequently brought under excise control.

Addressing the press last Friday, Alade explained that the command under his watch has strengthened its administrative and operational strategies to align with the policy thrust of the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR’s, and challenged stakeholders to join in the efforts to move the country forward through increased compliance.

On the command’s revenue portfolio, Alade said, “I am delighted to announce that through our strategic efforts and unified operations, the Ogun II Area Command has generated the sum of Fifteen billion, one hundred and ninety-one million, two hundred and twenty-seven thousand, five hundred and three Naira, eighty-two kobo 15,191,227,503.82 as revenue collected for the first Quarter of 2025.

“Interestingly, this revenue represents about a 40% increase compared to the Nine billion, one hundred and sixty-five million, seven hundred and seventeen thousand, one hundred and sixty-two naira and ninety-nine kobo 9,165,717,162.99kb recorded in the corresponding period of 2024.

“This achievement is a testament to the diligence, commitment, and professionalism of our officers and men who have worked tirelessly to ensure we exceed our revenue targets. It is also indicative of our unwavering commitment to the economic growth and development of our dear nation.”

Compt. Alade also explained that the breakdown of the revenue collected shows a progressive increase over the four (4) months in review. This is even as he listed the revenue collection to include  Excise N 8,333,039,874.82; Free Trade Zone N 7,164,777,965.00;   Bonded Terminal (Import) N 1,495,658,869.00; making a total of N 15,191,227,503,82kb

The Ogun 11 Customs boss said: “In addition to the Fifteen billion, one hundred and ninety-one million, two hundred and twenty-seven thousand, five hundred and three naira, eighty-two kobo (15,191,227,503.82 kb) which the Command generated in the period under review, the Command also discovered another unauthorized factory that was operating illegally, and the Command brought it under excise control.”

This is even as he attributed this success to several strategic initiatives  which includes a) Enhancing the Command Monitoring Unit operations, b) Improved intelligence gathering, c) Strengthening stakeholders’ engagement, and d) Cooperate social responsibility (CSR).

Alade says “This aligns perfectly with the policy thrust of our Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR’s principles of Consolidation, Collaboration, and Innovation”, adding:

“His visionary leadership and enabling support are crucial in enhancing our capabilities and driving these impressive results.  The Command reaffirms its commitment and the determination to surpass this performance in the coming months with the improved compliance of the trading community, partners at Free Trade Zones and the bonded terminal within the command’s area of responsivity (AoR).

Continuing, he said: “We will continue to dialogue and educate the stakeholders and the local business community. We shall maintain success through synergy with other partners while discharging our statutory responsibilities of enforcing compliance with government fiscal policy.”

Commending government sister agencies, and his officers and men for their hard work, dedication and professionalism, Alade said, “Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and our achievements reflect excellence. We shall continue to appreciate the enormous support of the CGC and his management team in enhancing our activities in Ogun state.

“We equally appreciate the continuous synergy and collaboration enjoyed with our esteemed sister agencies.”
