In the ever-evolving landscape of Nigeria’s public service, few stories shine as brightly as that of Oladoyin Bewaji, whose recent appointment as Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is a testament to decades of dedication, excellence, and visionary leadership.

Oladiyin Bewaji’s career began with quiet determination and a deep sense of duty. Over the years, she steadily climbed the ranks, each promotion earned through merit, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to service. Her journey is not just one of personal achievement—it reflects the transformative power of integrity and hard work within the country’s civil institutions.

One of the defining chapters in Bewaji’s career was her tenure at the Ikoyi Passport Office, one of the busiest and most scrutinized immigration offices in the country. Under her leadership, the office became a model of efficiency and transparency.

She introduced reforms that streamlined passport processing, improved customer service, and restored public trust in the system. Her ability to balance operational demands with empathy for citizens earned her widespread respect.

Then came her stint at the Kwara Area Command where she brought her signature blend of discipline and innovation to regional operations. She strengthened border security, enhanced staff training, and fostered collaboration with other security agencies.

Her tenure was marked by a noticeable improvement in service delivery and operational integrity, setting a new standard for regional command leadership.

Part of a historic promotion wave that saw over 13,000 officers elevated, Bewaji’s appointment reflects the NIS’s renewed commitment to recognizing excellence and breaking the cycle of career stagnation.

Oladiyin Bewaji’s story is more than a career narrative; it is a beacon for young professionals, especially women, in public service. Her rise demonstrates that with vision, integrity, and perseverance, it’s possible to navigate complex systems and emerge as a leader who inspires change; forever looking up to yet another  and higher role model, her boss and sister, the Comptroller General of Immigration; Kemi Nanna Nandap.
