NCS Recruitment: Management Escalates Preparations with Screening Schedule, Training College Inspection

​The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intensified efforts toward completing its latest enlistment cycle, releasing official directives for candidate screening alongside a high-level operational assessment of its primary recruit training facility.

​​In a press statement issued by the National Public Relations Officer, Deputy Comptroller Abdullahi Maiwada, the NCS announced that the physical screening and documentation exercise for successful candidates will take place at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, Abuja.

​Candidates invited for the mandatory exercise are required to present both original documents and photocopies, including:   ​National Identification Number (NIN); ​Original Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age; ​Academic credentials (O’Level, ND, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualifications); ​Certificate of State of Origin; ​Completed Guarantor’s Form; ​Two recent passport photographs; and ​NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate (where applicable).

​The Service specified a mandatory dress code consisting of a plain white T-shirt, white shorts, and white canvas shoes. Candidates are strictly required to report only on the specific dates allocated to their respective states and cadres. Missing an assigned slot risks immediate disqualification.

​Reaffirming the stance of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, the Public Relations Unit assured the public of a fair, merit-based, and transparent exercise, advising applicants to disregard unverified third-party communications.

​In a related development, CGC Adeniyi has carried out an on-site inspection of the Customs Training College (CTC) at Goron Dutse, Kano aimed at evaluating institutional readiness, ongoing infrastructure projects, and logistics prior to the arrival of new recruits for the 2026 Customs Basic Training Programme.

​Dr. Maiwada stated that the CGC was received by senior leadership, including:

​ACG Nsikan Umoh (Zonal Coordinator, Zone B), ​Comptroller Aminu Sule (Federal Operations Unit, Zone B) and ​Deputy Comptroller Umar Atiku (Commandant, Customs Training College).

​Following a brief from Commandant Atiku on preparatory activities, CGC Adeniyi toured key installations across the campus, including classrooms, residential hostels, workshops, support infrastructure, and the parade ground.

​Speaking during the tour, Adeniyi emphasized that developing fit-for-purpose training facilities is vital to equipping officers with the discipline and technical competence required for operational efficiency, border security, and revenue collection.

​​Upon the conclusion of the physical screening and documentation exercise in Gwagwalada, successful candidates will receive official instructions regarding their deployment to training institutions, including the Goron Dutse facility.
