MAMAL: Warredi To Deliver Paper On Crude Theft In GoG

The Executive Director, Operations and Technical, Tantita Security Services Limited Barely  Captain Warredi Enisuoh, will be speaking at the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) Annual Maritime Lecture, MAMAL, slated for tomorrow, Wednesday November 29, 2023 at the Rockview Hotel, Apapa Lagos.

Capt. Warredi a respected professional with expertise in aviation and maritime security and until recently a Director with the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) is scheduled to address challenges faced by operators face in their day-to-day activities in the Gulf of Guinea (GoG), and in addition join other stakeholders to provide comprehensive and sustainable solutions to maritime threats and criminalities in the region.

The MAMAL with the theme ‘Crude Oil Theft in the Gulf of Guinea (MARAN) Region: Emerging Threats and Actionable Steps – Perspectives of Operators’, will interrogate the various challenges confronting a functional maritime security architecture in the region.

Tantita, which is a major non state actor in the nation’s maritime security space is a one of the dependable, resourceful and result inclined private security contractors with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL );  with a fine record of a successful assignment in the surveillance of pipelines and checkmating of crude oil theft in the Niger Delta.

Others personalities expected to grace the occasion is Prince Olayiwola Shittu, former President of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA);  Mr. Emmanuel Maiguwa, President of Maritime Security Providers Association of Nigeria (MASPAN), and the very enigmatic maritime resource person, Dr. Eugene Nweke, who double as the Secretary of the Customs Consultative Council (CCC).

Also listed for participation is the President General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Dr.  Adewale Adeyanju, former Minister of Interior and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Integrated Oil and Gas Limited, Capt. Emmanuel Ihenacho, and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Nigeria Indigenous Shipowners Association (NISA), Chief Isaac Jolapamo amongst others.

A statement signed by MARAN President, Mr. Godfrey Bivbere note that whereas the collaborative efforts of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and other maritime agencies including the Nigerian Navy have significantly reduced piracy incidents in the Nigerian territorial waters and within the GoG in 2022, the establishment of the Gulf of Guinea Maritime Collaboration Forum for Shared Awareness and Deconfliction (GOG-MCF/SHADE) was expected to have raised the success story of containment.
