A bulk cargo, MOLYVOS LUCK believed to be discharging cement at the Dangote Jetty within the Lagos Apapa premier port, was attacked at the wee hour of today, Sunday, April 26, 2026, with the robbers reportedly robbing the crew members of cash and expensive official and personal material items before sailing away in their boats, said to be numbering about four.

Eye witness account disclosed that the sea robbers spent more than an hour inside the vessel, despite that the vessel captain activated its horn which reportedly blared for the entire period the operation lasted, without any response from either the Nigerian Navy, Port Police, Marine Police or operatives of the Deep Blue Project.

Our usually dependable source informed that security responses started arriving more than two hours after the dare devil robbers had finished their operation and departed. The marine police unit which arrived the location and close to the vessel at about 1pm allegedly focused on a chandler’s boat supplying essential provisions to vessels that berthed along the jetty, instead of immediately responding to the distressed vessel and its crew.

Although details of the robbery remain sketchy as at the time of going to press, eye witness account informed that the sea robbers arrived no sooner the morning rain started falling. While some account said majority of the bad guys boarded the vessel without any resistance, each of the boats they rode in was manned and were intermittently engaged in maneuvering stunts within the scene.

Other sources informed that policemen allegedly attached to the Dangote facility ran away when the unceasing blaring of the ship horn became unbearable.

Our reporter’s attempt to speak with the relevant department of the Nigerian Ports Authority and Dangote Group for their reactions proved abortive. While a telephone call to the Authority’s spokesman, Onyemachi Ikechukwu was not picked, he was yet to respond to a text message sent to him regarding the development before this publication.

Group spokesperson of Dangote Industries, Anthony Chiejina could not also be reached on phone for a comment.
