WCOAward: GREFFPON congratulates Olarewaju
The Congregation of Registered Freight Forwarding Practitioners of Nigeria (GREFFPON) has congratulated the 1st Governing Council (GC) and the Governing Council Chairman, Fwdr Aare Hakeem Olanrewaju as well as the 2nd Governing Council of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding Practice in Nigeria (CRFFN) RFF1 00002 over the Merit Certificate Award conferred on his company, TALOD OCEAN AFREIGHT, by the Secretary of the World Customs Organisation (WCO), Mr. Kunio Mukuriya.
The torrent of congratulatory and goodwill messages from Freight Forwarding Practitioners and business associates across the nation, applauded Olarewaju for the singular effort in positively attracting the attention of WCO on trade compliance, noting that the recognition is a pointer that Nigeria is making impact in global freight.
GREFFPON, a non-governmental organization, voluntary Salvage Movement established to restore professionalism in the freight forwarding industry described the award as an important one and a clear evidence of professionalism amongst Nigeria practitioners.

It is the practice for all customs organizations in every country to nominate an organization which meets the stipulated criteria to represent the private sector in the merit certificate award category, which was won this year by TALOD OCEAN AFREIGHT.
Recall that during the International Customs day cerebration, national Customs are encouraged to nominate a national organization who meets the stipulated criteria to represent Nigeria private sector in this category merit certificate award.
The Certificate Award tagged “RENDERING EXCEPTIONAL SERVICES TO THE INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS COMMUNITIES” was presented to Fwdr Olarewaju by the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (retired) at the just concluded International Customs Day Celebration, held in Abuja.
Aare Hakeem Olanrewaju in his appreciation remarks thanked the WCO and the NCS for considering his company worthy of the merit award. Equally thanked and commended his company management team, and dedicated the award to the young freight forwarders who are aspiring for professionalism and international best practices in all strata of the maritime industry; and encouraged them not to relent.
