MARCON Honours NAGAFF President Ezisi with Freight Forwarder of the Year Award

The Maritime Correspondents’ Organisation of Nigeria (MARCON) has honoured the National President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Chief Tochukwu Emmanuel Ezisi, with its prestigious Freight Forwarder of the Year Award, while also formally investing him as a Patron of the association in recognition of his outstanding contributions to freight forwarding, trade facilitation and the advancement of Nigeria’s maritime industry.

The twin honours were conferred during the 2026 MARCON Annual Conference held at Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt, where industry leaders, government officials, regulators and maritime stakeholders gathered to deliberate on the theme, “Special Economic Zones as Catalysts to Sustainable Blue Economy.”

Speaking during the investiture ceremony, Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, Paul Ogbuokiri, said the Patronship was conferred on Chief Ezisi in appreciation of his exemplary leadership, unwavering commitment to the freight forwarding profession and consistent support for initiatives that promote professionalism, capacity building and sustainable growth within the maritime sector.

According to Ogbuokiri, Chief Ezisi has distinguished himself both as National President of NAGAFF and Managing Director of Emmatoks Agencies Limited through sustained advocacy for trade facilitation, industry reforms and capacity development aimed at improving efficiency across Nigeria’s ports, logistics and international trade value chain.

He explained that the Freight Forwarder of the Year Award is reserved for industry leaders whose innovation, integrity and commitment have made remarkable contributions to the growth of freight forwarding and the overall development of Nigeria’s maritime economy.

Chief Ezisi was represented at the event by the National Secretary of NAGAFF, Geoffrey Nwosu, who expressed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen professional freight forwarding practice, deepen stakeholder collaboration and improve the competitiveness of Nigeria’s maritime industry.

The conference attracted top government officials, maritime regulators, port administrators, freight forwarders, terminal operators, investors and industry professionals, who explored practical strategies for leveraging efficient port infrastructure and Special Economic Zones to stimulate investment, industrialization, international trade and sustainable growth within Nigeria’s blue economy.
