Yusuf Bags Distinguished Corporate Achievers Award

The immediate past Coordinator of the Nigeria Customs Service Headquarters Strike Force Zone ‘C’, Alhaji Musa Yusuf has received the Distinguished Corporate Achievers Gold Award from CorporateNEWS Communication International Nigeria, a human capacity resource based body in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Information.

Speaking during the investiture in the awardees’ office, Dr. Chris Okeh, the Executive Director CorporateNews, said Yusuf’s nomination for the award was in recognition of his immense contributions to the growth and development of the Nigeria Customs Service and the national economy.

According to him the selection committee was particularly impressed with findings about Yusuf’s commitment to duty, courage, discipline, hard work, foresight, and his exceptional performances in all his assignments in the past one and a half decade.

His words: “His contributions to the Nigeria Customs Service over the years in the area of enforcement, revenue generation and recovery, his transparent and honest personality, professionalism and proficiency are commendable.

“It is on record that Deputy Comptroller Yusuf Musa Alhaji has worked in various commands across the country. He is a man of absolute integrity and dignity with the highest moral standard. He has performed creditably well and has recorded milestone achievements as his tenure in various places he has served witnessed lots of transformation.

“The Golden Award from CorporateNEWS Communication International he is receiving today is on merit and is aimed at promoting professionalism, excellence and proficiency in Nigeria”, adding:

“We believe that the award will be an additional source of inspiration for him to achieve greater heights in his assigned duties.”

Okeh said CorporateNews International is registered by the Federal Government of Nigeria and under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Information “to supplement the efforts of the government to recognize excellence.”

Responding, Yusuf thanked the organizers for finding him worthy of recognition even as he dedicated the award to the leadership of the Apapa Command where he is currently serving, and to his officers and men in the enforcement unit.

He noted that whereas customs success story under the present administration is a collective, adding that every enablement leading to noticeable high scorecard in the service can in the final analysis, only be traced to the Customs CG and his management.

He said, “I want to deeply express my profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for making it possible for me to be part of this event. I also wish to express my gratitude and thanks to the organizers for deeming it fit to nominate me recipient of this special award.

“I say this award is special amongst many others l have received in the past because this particular recognition came within the first three months of my posting as the DC Enforcement. It emphasizes what my modest value addition meant to the knowledge l planned to bequeath to my colleagues in the enforcement unit.

“I plan to leave behind crops of officers that will be able to defend and justify their actions at any point in time. Therefore, this award is not just for me, may l presume the honour to hide behind our Customs Area Controller, in the person of Comptroller M. I Yusuf, who appointed me DC Enforcement, and oversees every success story.

“I want to also use this opportunity to thank all officers and men in the enforcement unit for their support and cooperation, and the attitude of willing to learn and improve on the knowledge of the unit to perform all duty assigned to them.Therefore, l respectfully crave the indulgence of my CAC to dedicate this award to his office, and my officers and men.

“Our overall gratitude goes to our CGC, Col. Hammed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) and his management team for every enablement, for training and retraining of officers and men of the service, including the provision of logistics and other supports to perform our duty without hindrance.”

Present during the investiture ceremony in his office were his 2IC, the unit Staff Officer, amongst others.
