NAMM Commends MWUN PG For Profesionalism

The  Nigerian Association of Master Mariners (NAMM) has thumbed up the high level professionalism in the activities and engagements of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) in recent years.
This is coming on the backdrop of the decision of the MWUN leadership to reach out the estranged President  General of the Union, Comrade Uzoije Ukaummunna by the incumbent PG, Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, fnli HFCPSP, describing the resolve and embrace as unique, uncommon, edifying and presidential.
The NAMM President, Capt. Tajudeen Alao who said the industry has witnessed  unprecedented industrial peace and harmony under Adeyanju for always putting nation first within the framework of  its unionism, specially commended   Adeyanju for raising the union’s  professional conduct to a pedestal unknown to lanour movement; and thanked him for his contributions to ensuring that the maritime economy is insulated against frequent disruption despite manifest incidences of perceiced insensitive maritime labour occurrences.
Captain Alao notes that the positive disposition and transformation of the Union was not possible without
Adeyanju’s exemplary leadership style, especially in the facilitating the recent peaceful resolution of a longstanding dispute of twenty -three (23) years between the faction loyal to Ukaummunna the pioneer President General and successive leadership of the union.
The NAMM President noted that with the development, even as he also thanked the union exco for supporting their leaders in achieving the historic reconciliation.
“Politicians and political parties and other groups have so much to learn from this gesture.
“It teaches us  the virtue of humility and and sets a high standard…a very big example for many of us to follow.
“No wonder the maritime industry is this peaceful, l pray to God for the guidance of the MWUN President General, for more wisdom and knowledge and to continue to strengthen him to continue to surmount all challenges that has to do with his good office”, Head of Media, Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna quoted him  to have said.
