New Yam Festival: Eze Njoku To Host Igbo Community

Determined to enhance and promote lgbo culture among the younger  generations, the Eze Ndigbo of Aigbaka Ejigbo Lagos State, Eze (Amb) Nicholas Emenike Njoku has concluded arrangements to showcase the rich culture and traditions of Ndi- lgbo in Ejigbo community and environ during his first Ofala/ New Yam festival (lri ji), slated for September 30,2023 by 12.00 noon.

The event which will take place at the premises of Ronik Comprehensive College Ejigbo will witness a large turnout of illustrious sons and daughters of Igbo speaking people both at home and in the diaspora, high profile personalities, friends, children and cultural enthusiasts.

Eze Njoku, Eziokwu bu Ndu 1 of Abazu, Ikeduru reiterated his commitment in promoting the lgbo  language as young children will be on ground to display and showcase the rich traditional culture and traditions of the Igbo nation.

The Chairman Planning Committee, Hon. Engr. Chuks Odimegwu said the event which is under the chairmanship of Prince Henry Ugochukwu and Jude Idimogu as Special Guest of Honor would witness will be filled with rich cultural displays and pomp, adding that the event will commence on Friday, 29th September 2023 at the palace of Eze Eziokwu bu Ndu with presentation of chieftaincy titles and will climax on September 30 with the grand finale which would feature diverse cultural performances, presentation of new yam, dance among others thrills.

He explained that this Ofala/New yam festival have been specially arranged to attract local, state, and national presence to the rich Cultural heritage of the lgbo peoples.
