“Your Excellency, the people of Ondo State have placed their trust in you to lead them toward prosperity. I urge you to set a new standard of governance by implementing policies that prioritize the well-being of the people and the sustainable development of the state,” he stated.

A firm advocate for the growth of Nigeria’s Blue Economy and the optimization of its inland waterways, Hon. Olubunmi emphasized the transformative potential of these sectors in driving economic growth and creating sustainable livelihoods.

He therefore urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to explore the vast opportunities within the Blue Economy to further strengthen Ondo State’s economy and position it as a hub for maritime activities.

Reiterating his belief in the immense potential of Nigeria’s waterways, the BOAN leader waxed philosophical  by referencing the popular phrase, “Ọba Ọmí ju Ọba Òkè”, in Yoruba language which means: “The potentials in the water are greater than those on the land.”

Hon. Olumekun highlighted the untapped opportunities in maritime trade, transportation, tourism, and fisheries, which could significantly boost the state’s revenue and create jobs for its people.
