AMJON to train journalists on Nigeria’s Blue Economy Project

The Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria, AMJON, says it will hold a 2-Day training workshop for its members on Nigeria’s Blue Economy at the Rockview Hotel, Apapa, Lagos, between Thursday 17 and Friday 18 December, 2020.

AMJON President, Mr. Paul Ogbuokiri in a statement said the training is part of measures to create the much deserved education of the journalists reporting the maritime industry, for a proper understanding of the nation’s Blue Economy Project.

According to Ogbuokiri , the two day workshop titled ‘Insight Into Nigeria’s Blue Economy Project’ would attract stakeholders from the public and private sectors of the Nigerian maritime industry.

According to the statement, while Dr. Chris Asoluka, renowned maritime professional, has been penciled down as the lead speaker, heads of maritime agencies are expected to present related papers, .

Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Dr. Bashir Jamoh   is Special Guest of Honour, and is expected to deliver a paper titled: ‘Understanding the role of NIMASA in the Nigeria’s Blue Economy Project.’

Other agencies to make presentations are the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Nigerian Ports Authority NPA, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, SON, and the Nigeria Shippers’ Council, NSC.
